This statement
” I don’t go to church because it’s full of hypocrites” is one of the biggest excuses people give for not attending a church to worship God.
I agree because I’ve been a victim of attending church and being a hypocrite. So what is a hypocrite. It’s someone who says they are something but their inside does not match the outside! So a hypocrite in the church can be someone who says I’m a faith walking believing Christian, but their dead on the inside and can’t stand with their faith. There I was! I’ve been attending church since I was a toddler, raised in the church, knew all the sacraments and what they meant, could teach my own Sunday school class to my baby dolls, knew what the Bible said and guess what, said I believed every word of it…that was until my faith was tested! I realized I was dead on the inside where it counts! So I agree the church is full of hypocrites! It’s a place where many go and profess but don’t realize the dead, lukewarm, boring, mundane faith they live with on the inside!
So that brings me to my conclusion! The church is full of hypocrites and that’s why I go because I WAS ONE! It’s full of people like me who needed Jesus just like a sinner who has never accepted Christ, it’s full of people who need to hear the gospel maybe 100’s of times before the word sinks in deep! But when that word gets in deep and you see the truth, the grace, the mercy and the purpose you become alive and revived in Christ! That’s why I love attending a place of worship where people go that may be lost or hypocritical because i know what the end result is! The end result is not suicide, divorce, more anger or devastation but it’s gracious reliance on Christ alone who redeems and sets people free every day!! That is better than any Sunday sitting at home talking about the hypocrites who go to church…it’s way better to be in his house in assembly with the believers because in the end you will know why Gods love is so wide and deep! Because he first loved YOU!
