So my 4-year-old, Violet, loves to sing loudly in her room. This is what we caught her singing from her room as a rap and she even made up motions.

I’m praising the Lord (as she lifts her hands up and down in a very hip hop style)

As we were trying to contain the laughter as she was seriously singing this tune and dancing…I was taken back.
She was displaying right in front of my eyes the type of mom I was, the kind of example I was to her. Every Sunday at church my daughter can see me praise God, in the car she hears me sing praise as I drive her to school…it blesses me to know how she has noticed something so simple, but so vital!
Without praise we will never overcome! We can only win with our hands and hearts facing upward! That’s the key! Well if a 4-year-old can get her praise on…then so can we.
Beyond all that…what kind of example are we putting out there to our kids, family, and friends! What are they getting from their momma. I hope it’s more than a comforting talk but more like a moment with God.
By the way, I’m passing this praise down…because I got it from my momma too!
