Last Minute Revelations

Raven Cannon logoI have found over the years of serving Jesus, the church, and the youth group that sometimes things happen at the last-minute. Sometimes it’s things I can’t help and its hard to know what the next step will be when you have been dumped on, surprised or shook up at the last minute. That’s where I have discovered that God always has a last minute revelation.

For example we were surprised by the passing of one of the little ones that attended my church. It came out of nowhere and it surprised his family, his church family and all of his sweet friends. In the midst of the situation, I was shook up, surprised and I felt so sad all at the same time…what was God’s reasoning behind all this and what would I say to the family. Words cannot express my feelings that week and even today I get emotional behind this keyboard!

They asked me to sing at his funeral and asked my husband to speak. Unfortunately, my husband’s boss would not allow him to be off work even over such a delicate situation…so it looked like from my perspective even sadder! I knew God was going to come through somehow but I didn’t know his perfect plan yet! So me and my husband stayed up late filming the last words from his Children’s Pastor to little Branson, and that’s when God’s last-minute revelation came in. My husband sitting there trying to focus on what he needed to say, and the Holy Spirit filled my living room. All of the sudden it came out just like a mighty flow, Branson knew the difference between real and fake, and he knew Jesus was real…and that was it! That was the last minute revelation!

My husband looked up at the camera and said those words, and I felt the Holy Spirit because I knew that God had just spoke through him to speak a revelation to his family, his church and his sweet little friends. Simple as it was, but a revelation of clear knowing that Jesus is Real…and Branson knew that without a shadow of a doubt!

So today, when God surprises us with something, or we get dumped on, or we get the shook up feeling come over us…don’t question God on his ability to come up with the last-minute revelation.

That day at Branson’s funeral, laid a sweet boy five years of age, that was in Jesus’ arms and he knew then that Jesus was real…and so did his friends and family. Never underestimate the Holy Spirit!
