So today I’ve had an eventful morning! I’m on my way back from taking Violet to daycare, and I get stuck behind a train of cars that are stopped at a red light. There is also train tracks up ahead, no train, just tracks but get this the railroad lights were flashing. So I’m thinking behind all these cars that we are waiting on the train to pass! So I waited & waited and never saw a train coming, but the lights on the railroad were still flashing. As the cars began to move and we got closer to the railroad, I noticed a cop right in front of me. He was past the railroad tracks on the other side and was stopped at a red light. I finally begin to notice that there was no train (they must have been working on the railroad), because the lights and the railroad sounds were still going. So I was somewhat confused as to whether drive over the tracks or to stop! So after a few thoughts I went ahead and pulled over the tracks behind the police officer.
The police officer is still sitting and waiting on this light to turn green. I guess he gets pretty bored after several minutes and decides to run the red light. At that moment I felt like I had the right to break the law so I decided to follow that police officer and run the red light. That is the first time I have ever ran a red light on purpose with a cop watching! It felt breathtaking. LOL.
As I was sitting there waiting on that light and on whether or not to cross the tracks, I kept getting more and more confused about the situation. The lights were flashing red for me to stop at the railroad, and the red light was red so I know that means to stop until it turns green, but there was no train and the police officer ran the red light cause he got bored as well…so why not (honestly the red light had to of been broken.)
What am I trying to say? Sometimes we get confused in our relationship with Christ. We don’t know if the lights flashing means something is coming down the tracks or if it means to go ahead and cross the tracks to the other side. We don’t know if we should follow the crowd or stop and wait. When you are confused about things going on in your life, you need to make some NOW decisions that help you do the right thing. After sitting and waiting on that light I realized that the light was broken (lol.) Sometimes we are sitting and waiting on things in our life to just work out around us, but because we are not making a decision nothing happens! Life is about choices. It’s just important that we are clear about the decision we make to follow Christ or not to follow Him. Then we have gotta stick to our guns and be ready for anything that comes our way! Make the right decision, even if that means having to run a red light (only if its broken, and you look before you go). Sometimes the right thing almost can look wrong. Like making breaks with friends who may seem to care about you, because you need a better crowd to hang out with! Just keep this in mind today.
Raven
A good word for today, thank you, Raven. Sometimes it’s not just the youth that need to hear what you have to say. I am so thankful for you.
