School Pizza!

Just arrived back at the church from an hour and a half of school pizza, weird looks, and Akwardness! YES!  I went to high school today for school lunch at Albertville High School. Why? Cuz my kids invited me…which makes me feel really cool! To top it off, they actually did sit with me at lunch and speak to me…like I was super AWESOME! I really have the best bunch of students ever!

As a student Pastor, I have insecurities just as much as anyone else. My first insecurity probably above all, is that I’m a woman youth pastor. So by first glance sometimes, from students and parents, I recieve that weird glance or cut of an eye! Ouch! Then of course my next insecurity was walking back into high school after 8 years of being free from that horrid place. So my worry, was will my students notice me and talk to me, will I embarrass them today, or will they embarrass me today?

All of these worries and insecurites were going through my head as I sat in front of the main office in the awesome PT Cruiser…waiting for Jon Jon to show up cuz he is always late! Literally shaking when I walked in, all the memories from high school came flooding in. Then I remembered what we sung at church yesterday!

I KNOW WHO I AM! I KNOW WHO I AM! That’s right I belong to Jesus, so idk what others think about my Jesus ways, my randomness, or my weird occupation…the truth is I’m saved, redeemed, and I ‘ve been bought and covered in the blood of Jesus…so get over it!

I’m over it! I love belonging to Christ, I’m confident in my relationship and friendship with my Savior. Are you? Don’t let fear grip you today or insecurities take over your mind….instead be God’s today!
