Don’t throw it away!

This past month has been an eventful time in my life. Moving my family across the world from Alabama to San Francisco, CA has been adventurous, amusing and diverse. One of the many “new” things I’m learning is how to separate my trash. In Alabama, we had one trash can, and here we have three trash cans. One for compost, one for recycling, and one for landfill. The concepts of learning how to separate your trash correctly have been overwhelming on most days thus far.

As I was working the other day at the office I began to feel the anxious feelings of being in a new place with new people. Yes, it’s exciting but for my introverted being, it was time for me to shell inward. I wanted to hide all the sudden. I wanted to run away possibly to my comfortable place. The anxiety and fear began to overwhelm my thoughts.

Texting my sister for some advice at that moment she was ready and willing to provide some help. She sends me a verse of scripture that erupts inside of me at just the first glance. It’s the very thing I had overlooked.

Hebrews 10:35 “So don’t throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.”

Confidence means firm trust. It’s the state of feeling certain about the truth of something. The unshakeable confidence that God has not messed up and He knew what He was doing when He brought you to the season you are in. Don’t throw it away. This is one item that even in California does not end up in any of the three trash containers.

In 2 Corinthians 9:8 it says that “God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done.” MSG

So don’t throw away your confidence in the truth just yet! Don’t give up or decide to walk away from your passion just yet. Stick with it. Keep Going. Stay strong. Stay firm in the path because there is a reward in finishing strong! There is a great reward in trusting no matter what.

Trust me when I say, that I had concerns about coming to California to minister. I thought God I’m not wired for this. I’m not ready for such a venture. But each day I wake up with peace in my heart! It’s okay! It’s not over yet! Keep the confidence! Don’t throw away all the good God has already placed in you over an anxious thought.

My earnings from the past three weeks of separating my trash, making new friends, eating new foods, figuring out how to drive here and how to minister to a multi-cultural society have been this…DON’T THROW AWAY WHAT GOD HAS STARTED! KEEP THE PATH! The reward is coming!

Same for you! Don’t give in over anxious thoughts or uncertainty!

You are seen! You are a sure thing in God’s eyes! He has confidence in you that you have something great to do for Him. So stay the path! Don’t waver. Be UNSHAKEABLE.
