Jesus + Guts

Galatians 2:20 (NLT) 20 My old self has been crucified with Christ.[a] It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Just think on this scripture just for a minute…when you accept Jesus into your heart you are dying to yourself to make Christ alive inside of you, because he gave it all up for you.

In other words…There is a lot of blood, sweat, and guts between Jesus and you.
Jesus loved his guts out for you! See our commitment to Christ takes great courage! Takes Bravery! Takes Guts!

IT DEMANDS…
you to follow Jesus no matter the cost, you to turn away from situations that may be harmful to God’s will for your life, you to give up your opinions and feelings and trust Him deeply, you to be an unshakeable disciple…GO WITH GUTS BECAUSE IT DEMANDS!

When Julius Caesar landed on the shores of Britain with his Roman legions, he took a bold and decisive step to ensure the success of his military venture. Ordering his men to march to the edge of the Cliffs of Dover, he commanded them to look down at the water below. To their amazement, they saw every ship in which they had crossed the channel engulfed in flames. Caesar had deliberately cut off any possibility of retreat. Now that his soldiers were unable to return to the continent, there was nothing left for them to do but to advance and conquer! And that is exactly what they did.

Caesar was committed to the vision! Advance and Conquer. He knew that if he gave his men options that they would turn back and retreat. There was no way out! They had to be brave now. That was the only option! They had to have GUTS! And because their vision demanded guts and courage they were victorious.

Have you considered retreating spiritually? Have you slacked on drawing closer to God? Has the vision of God’s Kingdom been on your mind lately? Do you want to do what is convenient instead of what is needed?

What I’m asking is…Do you have guts to advance and conquer this year? Then have the guts to do what is right, not what is convenient.

Think about Jonah, in the book of Jonah, he was told by God to go to Ninevah, and preach! He didn’t want to go, it wasn’t it in his personal 5 year plan. So he refused and set out on his own path. Where did it get him? He got swallowed up by a great whale until he cried out to God and agreed with God’s will for his life. He was spewed out on the seashore covered in whale guts. Now, I’m sure Jonah wasn’t too excited at how his day ended up…but it sure did get his attention.

God has GUTS too..he will grab your attention! If we keep disagreeing with God’s will for our lives (let me clarify, his will is in the Holy Bible, for each and every one of us.) then plan on life getting messy!

Have you tried it your way? If so, why want you get some guts and say NO TURNING BACK, NO TURNING BACK! I WILL NOT RETREAT! I WILL NOT COMPROMISE! I WILL NOT LAY DOWN! I WILL NOT BACK DOWN! I WILL NOT BE SWAYED! I WILL NOT BE MOVED! I WILL NOT BE DISCOURAGED! I WILL NOT BE BOUND!

NO NOT TODAY! Instead I am determined to follow through as a disciple of the Lord Jesus, I am determined to agree with His perfect will, I am determined to not compromise or settle for anything less but the best God has for me, I am determined to be restored, healed and delivered. I am determined to fight the good fight with every ounce of guts I have!

You know many people say, GO WITH YOUR GUT, I BELIEVE IF YOU HAVE GUTS, GO WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT!

You can’t go wrong when you start getting in agreement. You start reading that Bible, you start praying, you fast, you serve in the church, you attend church faithfully, and you give your tithes and your offerings…and I mean not just yes I agree with your words, but you get serious and start lining up your actions with those words…you can’t go wrong! You’re on a highway to overcoming with victory!

Victory for you could mean different things…if you started serving the church, if you started volunteering your time and your gifts…you might find that every ounce of energy you give to the Kingdom, God rewards back to you in the evenings with your family. You may not feel so down, because you feel so much joy after you attend church faithfully. Don’t let anything get in your way! Be serious!

Advance and Conquer Baby!
