Jesus is not only the Rock and the sure foundation, but He’s also the expert builder and the cornerstone that holds the house together. He is the architect and has created the blueprint for an eternal dwelling for you. He is building a Kingdom that will last forever, and He wants to build it in and through you!
1 Corinthians 3:10-16 (NLT)
10 Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. (Jesus must be the builder of your life) Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.
12 Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw.(you will have freewill to make decisions) 13 But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. 14 If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. 15 But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames. (is your life suffering from your personal bad decision making)
16 Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in[a] you? (The Spirit of God is UNSHAKEABLE, He must be in control)
God is the expert architect, builder and brick layer for your life.
Remember that there is only one foundation, the one already laid; Jesus Christ. Jesus knows us from the inside and out. He has formed us to be His masterpiece.
Jeremiah 1:5 I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.
He has already drawn out the plans or the blueprint for your life, He has already signed off on the materials that you will need to plan your life. He has already prepared the manual, the Word of God, for you to build your life on.
Jesus is the expert builder and the best part is He gives you the next step freely. He gives you free will to choose what materials to build your house out of. He gives you options like gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw. If you choose the hay over the wood then your house will obviously not withstand wind, hard times or life’s storms.
See God wants to give you the choice to make your own decisions, because a life spent with Him is not a life of do’s and don’ts, but a life of freedom. If you choose Him then it is well with your soul, if you don’t choose Him and His materials then making you do so would only grieve Him. Jesus wants to know that you choose Him over everything else. He doesn’t want to have to force you to love Him and His ways.
Reflect today about God’s blueprint for your life. He loves you. You are His masterpiece. He knows you inside and out. Why want you let Him take control today and begin to build the dreams, the plans, the goals, and the future for your life. His ideas are way better since He is the creator of EVERYTHING. We need to give God the credit today for forming us into His masterpiece. Give God the Glory!
