The Waiting Room

Raven Cannon logoHave you ever had to go to the doctor and your appointment is at 9 am, but you don’t actually see the doctor till like 10:30. We get frustrated in the waiting room, well there is not too much to do, so we end up getting ourselves worked up over having to wait!

Well I believe that we are the same way when it comes time to wait on God for something. We may believe we are in a certain season for our life and God hasn’t waited on us yet, performed that perfect miracle yet, given us the breakthrough of our life, or set our family and friends free yet. Well don’t get so worked up because as I was studying in the Word I found us all a little bit of encouragement!

This passage comes from the message version. Isaiah 30:18 says But God’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you. He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you. God takes the time to do everything right — everything. Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones.

There is so much in this one scripture that we can grab a hold of.

  1. He isn’t finished yet! Praise God
  2. He’s waiting around to be gracious to us. We all are in need of some extra grace!
  3. He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you. God’s job is a big one so let Him gather up every ounce of strength he can so he can do it right!
  4. God is going to do it right the first time!
  5. And if you wait, you are the lucky ones.

Faithfulness will get you through the waiting room. Why? Because just like at the doctor’s office, if you continue to wait, you end up getting a visit with the doctor and after that shot you feel so much better.

The same goes with Jesus. Be faithful in the waiting room, don’t get so worked up…because if you wait, your miracle, breakthrough, moment and season will be perfectly right and at the right time! Go in peace today!

“He’s waiting around to be gracious to you.”
