My four-year old informed me this week that she couldn’t wait till Sunday because that was the best day ever…so when I ask her why she amazes me with her answers!
Because it’s church day, MOM! And just like that I saw her remarkable blue eyes light up with excitement as she readily picked out her dress to wear to church the next day!
After thinking and pondering over the zeal this little lady has for attending the house of God it made me think about was Sunday really the best day of our lives!
Monday’s are usually filled with craziness as everyone is trying to get back in routine, Tuesday’s through Thursday’s everyone’s waiting till Friday! My news feed is covered with TGIF! Then Saturday it’s the river, family reunions, birthday parties etc…and then Sunday rolls around! Is Sunday another day to sleep in, go to the river, or catch up on Netflix?
Well I have seen many people fill their week with activities, work and their choice of relaxation but the happy ones are the ones who KNOW Sunday is the best of their lives because it’s set aside to worship JESUS!
You can plan all the fun you can into your Sunday but it won’t resolve that empty place, it won’t calm the storms you’re facing inside, it won’t give you hope when you are diagnosed with a disease…NOPE! But if you fill your life with JESUS, set aside his day and respect it…then you will begin to fill the load lifted!
So that’s why Sunday is the best day ever for my family…because there is great joy in loving and serving Christ!
