The other day I was preparing for one of the coolest Student Services ever at Free Life, and a thought came to me to literally go out and kidnap a student leader that needed some help that day! I know what your thinking, what a psycho! Well, I guess you could say that, but because I adore the students that God has placed in my life to minister to, my heart is broken when they miss or turn their backs on God. I needed to help this person, I felt like an intervention needed to take place! Running away I’m sure was the first thought of this student, but as the afternoon progressed, I really believe that this student was reminded of how much he was loved by God.
How many times in our own lives and situations do we just need to be kidnapped out of a bad situation and placed in the loving arms of Jesus, so he can just be there to help and to set us straight! Gosh, over and over in my life God has done this for me. He has sent great people into my life that care about me, are concerned about me, and are truly good friends to me. Because of those great people, there has been so many times I could have fallen into a lot deeper hole, but someone threw a rope out to me for help!
I know that we all struggle and we face ups and downs in our lives, but seriously be Kidnapped by the Lord’s presence and then be wowed by his love! His love goes so deep that no matter how deep we may get he knows how to get a rope to you for a glorious rescue!
It’s not that he doesn’t want us to make our own decisions, it’s that he wants us to make the right ones! So after this post you may call me the Crazy Youth Pastor of the Century, but because of my intervention kidnapping technique, this student gave it all back to God by the end of the evening on his own will! Praise God! LOL
