Fried Bologna

Last night was a good night for me. I was at home by around 8:30 after a successful Ambush practice. One of my great leaders in the youth ministry was struggling last night. Dealing with grief over losing her grandmother, I offered for her to stay so we could talk about her grandmother and she could vent to me. I began to scan the refrigerator for something to eat…and all I kept thinking about was fried bologna. So after a few more scans I decided to get out the skillet and make me some fried bologona. I looked to my great leader in youth ministry and asked if she would like some as well. With hopeful eyes she said of course! I LOVE FRIED BOLOGNA!

I’m standing in the kitchen cooking fried bologna for her, and the memories of students who I have given my heart away to begin to rush through my mind. Students I had ministered to throughout my years serving in youth ministry. I begin to long to see them again, talk to them, and be a light in their life again.

After the Bologna was done, I handed the plate to her and the words that came out of her mouth set me on a new path. She said, Raven you are Awesome! I knew at that moment that I had just made a lasting impact on someone’s life. I’m working on leaving a mark in this world, and I will not stop doing what I love until I have left a lasting legacy. I want my heart to touch others with the love of Christ. I’m living my life for Him, and I want to see others do the same!

Today give your heart away to someone. Know that they will probably break it, stomp on it, and embrace it all at the same time! BUT ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT! What kind of fried bologna can you make for someone today?
